Canada - Francois Blanchet
Born in the late seventies, Francois grew up surrounded by nature, boats and fish! He soon realized that sitting by a river all day was not only a past time, but a way of life. At an age of only 29, Francois already has quite a curriculum in the North American fly fishing industry . FFF certified instructor in 2003 and passionate guide, his species of choice to target are the atlantics salmon and wild Steelhead. His guiding areas ranges from Quebec’s Gaspe Peninsula to the Southwest BC trout and steelhead streams. He loves to drift and constantly explores remote rivers. His last exploration trip was on Canada’s last frontier: the Queen Charlottes Islands in Northern British Columbia.
A fun and energetic instructor, Frank can teach every style of spey casting in both French and English! He preaches minimize the amount of effort while casting, and adapt your casting to your body. He also teaches about all aspects of fly fishing and tube fly tying, but casting two handed rods is his “speycialty”...He is known as a clean and stylish underhand caster. His personal adaptation of this style is called “scanadian" casting.
